How to join a jabber conference?

I start to like Centericq ....

but I need to join a conference (groupchat) that someone has setup for me.

The name of the room is Cargonzier and it is on conference.jabber.org

The Cargonizer room requires a password.

Can somebody give me a step-by-step guide for how I join the groupchat?

I have tried the Join channel/conference in the global menu but it is very
limited what I can do there.


I have alos tried to let a member of the conference (using gaim by the
way...) invite me. But nothin appears on my screen.
