This is something that is bothering almost every centericq user!

That utf8 version does only compile centericq with ncursesw, the wide-character version of ncurses. This mean that utf8 character are visually correct, but the centericq code does not treat them as multi-byte characters, so the display messes up. for example when you insert an accented character, the cursors stays one position forward.

Actually it's not hard, maybe when we'll have a wiki I'll be writing a very quick "getting started with git" page, showing the basic command we'll need.

Well just start by testing and reading, if you want to start messing with pointers and things like that (which you'll have to do, probably, if you're going to write code) I strongly suggest that you pick a good book about C/C++ to have a full understanding of the issues. Pointers are great, but from a great power comes a great danger... Thinking in C++ is a good resource, especially because you can have it online for free, so it's a good reference.

Well you could help creating packages for Debian and Debian-likes, this should not be too difficult and neither time consuming. Also, Julien Lemoine (the Debian mantainer) is a nice guy who you can talk to about that.

Quite honestly I agree. We should give it a try. After all writing hooks for those libraries should not be so difficult... Maybe after utf8 support I'll try to play with this!
