That warning is issued when you do not have gnutls installed. This is because it looks for the libgnutls-extra.m4 file in /usr/share/aclocal/ . What is really annoying is that it requires this file even if you choose to use openssl and not gnutls! So with Debian you need to install gnutls-dev, in Gentoo gnutls, other distributions... you get the idea! Actually you only need that libgnutls-extra.m4 in /usr/share/aclocal/, so you could download just that and put it there, that should do.
