I can only guess but I've read that cricket can not only graph the
values it got via e.g. SNMP but also send traps if they exceed a certain
limit. These traps could be catched by Nagios. [1]

In return you could write (or use an already written) Cricket check that
monitors Nagios so that you get a nice graph with peaks for the number
of alerts on a day. Recent Nagios version already have this feature
builtin though.

If you come up with further fancy ideas please post to the list :)
