You don't specify, but the rest of your email suggests, that you
are trying to monitor Linux boxes that are running net-snmpd.  Is
that indeed the case?

If so, have you tried using the automatic config generator in
cricket/util/systemPerfConf.pl , along with its associated
Defaults file?  That generally works much better than hand-created
configs or the other, static, "linux" configs floating around.

You may also need to add something like "includeAllDisks 5%" into
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf in order for the MIB to get populated.  You
may subsequently need to add "ignoredisk" directives if you see
nasty error messages from snmpd in syslog about things it was
unable to access.  See "man snmpd.conf" for details.
