genRtrConfig, router crash and old MIB

We have several Cisco 7513 routers.  They crash every time genRtrConfig is ran against them.  The arguments we are using are: "-C SNMP --snmpv2c HOSTNAME".  

 

We opened a case with Cisco and provided them the crash information.  They came back with the following:

This failure is seen from a view of the "Chassis card table" in the OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB. The OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB was deprecated and has been replaced with ENTITY-MIB. Although the OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB is deprecated it can still be queried and in this case is causing the failure.

Workaround:
Avoid using the cardIfIndexEntry in your default SNMP view.

 

Is it possible to avoid polling "cardIfIndexEntry" I believe you will not see the crash if you do not poll this MIB. Furthermore the MIB element is no longer supported as documented in the URL above. Let me know your feedback.

Looking in genRtrConfig, I see the following that match the entry Cisco was referring to:

 

        'cardIfSlotNumber'      =>          '1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.13.1.2',

        'cardIfPortNumber'      =>          '1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.13.1.3',

 

I ether need to find a replacement for this OID or I need to stop using it.  Has anyone ran in to this before or have any ideas on what I could replace this entry with to allow it to continue working?
