I made some progress. Had to manually hack the opensnmp sub in the snmpUtils.pm to store the rest of the snmp v3 options. This is then passed onto the SNMP::_new_v3_session in SNMP.pm.
When i run the collector, I see that the snmp session pointer is being set. But when I debug snmp headers at the router end, it shows that though a snmp v3 packet is received, the security level is set to "noauth" and there is no username as well.
I am quite stumped, as I can do the snmpwalk -v 3 perfectly fine.
Running the collector indicates a timeout.
my snmp string is
snmp = <comm-name>@<IP>:<PORT>:5.0:5:1.0:3:MD5:<authpass>:DES:<privpass>:<username>:authNoPriv
Has anyone been through this path?
Ajay
