getting error while compling the config files

Hello Sir,

Installed the latest version of cricket 1.0.5.Not able to compile the
configuration files. As i had issues in installing the cricket with a
new user added to the system. tried the installation as a root still
facing the same error.
here is a copy of the error prompted during the compile cmd

[root@sattish cricket]# ./compile
[06-Sep-2007 18:36:25 ] Log level changed from warn to info.
[06-Sep-2007 18:36:25 ] Starting compile: Cricket version 1.0.5
(2004-03-28)
Can't create /root/cricket-config/config.db.lock at ./compile line 82.
 Platform : Redhat linux

Can you please let me know what would be the workaround thanks
