For a single person doing the commits, CVS (or any CMS) isn't really needed (though I use it, mostly for practice, on my own projects), but if we're going to have multiple commiters (only a few, at least at first, I think), then it's an almost necessity. Since SourceForge already has it up, we'd probably just start using that for development, but still post the tarballs to open-it (if allowed) as well as SF (they have lots of mirrors ;)). You mean CMS as in typesetting type stuff, or CMS as in CVS? (Too many acronyms with different meanings ;)).
