I have found that If I move my server over to RHEL3 that the problem goes 
away.  RHEL3 is using openldap 2.0.something.  The eventual plan was to 
use RHEL so this is a good thing (;

I do wonder how far off Samba 3.0 schema support is though, since this LDAP 
server will handle authing samba logins (linux to linux, no windows 
involved).
