With all due respect, it's your job to keep your domains registered.   
US banks make billions on late fees for credit cards, and there's not  
much petitioning (except Al Franken running for President on "no ATM  
fees" platform").

Basically, the idea of computerized financial company is to nickel and  
dime folks into oblivion based on an army of 24/7 employees and  
computer systems -- again a solitary fallible human being.

Register your domains for years ahead.  Put them on auto-renew.  My  
registrar (bulkregister) sends out lots of reminders, and before auto- 
renews, too, allowing to cancel unwanted domains.

Basically. if you'd spent all this energy on watching your domains,  
you'd be in good shape.
