Hello all .. this week I installed new DNS Software on ~50 servers. The software I use is exactly like https://andreasschulze.de/dns ( and https://andreasschulze.de/dns/djbdns/doit ) On some servers I noticed a high CPU load. There I disabled MERGEQUERIES. Now I have again a Server where dnscache happily consumes 100% cpu. ( dont hurts, 3 cores are still available ... ) I decided to _NOT_ restart the cache. I run some command: # strace -p 18637 2>&1 | tai64n | tai64nlocal > /tmp/dnscache.strace http://postmaster.datev.de/dnscache/dnscache.strace # cat run http://postmaster.datev.de/dnscache/run # ls -la env; cat env/* http://postmaster.datev.de/dnscache/env # top -b -n 5 -p 18637 > /tmp/top http://postmaster.datev.de/dnscache/top # dump_systeminfos http://postmaster.datev.de/dnscache/systeminfo # what_should_i_do -bash: what_should_i_do: ask the mailinglist ;-) Anybody may help ? Last resort would be disabling MERGEQUERIES an all servers :-( Thanks Andreas -- ######################################################################## # # Andreas Schulze # https://andreasschulze.de # # GnuPG Key-ID: A7DBA67F, https://andreasschulze.de/sca.asc # GnuPG Fingerprint: 14C1 39A8 CE6D 6BE0 28C6 5652 03B5 6793 A7DB A67F # # $Id: .signature,v 1.3 2007-12-27 21:13:36 sca Exp $ ########################################################################
