data.tmp: file too big

Hello all,

I've come to a situation where i need to have a rather large data file, 
hopefully it'll be smaller than the advertised 4GB. The text data file 
is close to 1GB and when i run tinydns-data to build the cdb file i'm 
getting

tinydns-data: fatal: unable to create data.tmp: file too big
make: *** [data.cdb] Error 111

The system is being run on a Xen virtual machine, with a Debian Lenny 
install. The virtual machine has 2GB of dedicated memory.

Before i think of digging into the code, i'd like to ask the list if 
someone has experienced such situation.
