I did miss one of those: Lack of research on my part, I was going 
cross-eyed sifting through old posts, thus my turning to the list for 
further inspiration - such as your CHANGES file.

I had seen the 2nd one but didn't include it since this relates to 
copying the cdb file into place (wrong: not atomic) rather than moving 
it (right) - GMANE/12705. If it does (just) what it intends to 
however, I see that would be useful. Thinks: Given copy isn't atomic, 
can half-a-cdb-file be read in during an incomplete copy, resulting in 
incomplete data with this patch?
