I experimented with forcing dnscache to cache the SOA (which it doesnt do 
now), and I was trying to make it go recheck the delegation all the way 
back to the parent who's SOA is not expired.

But i never got it working the way I wanted to, and have no idea where the 
code is.

I bet many on this list could easily whip up an elegant patch though. 
(hint, hint).
