Re: Wildcard Subdomain

Great, thanks for that example.
Do you know if the wildcard subdomain has to be last in the returned
results?
For example, if the results of the sql query return:

www      1.1.1.1
mail     1.1.1.2
*        1.1.1.3
special  1.1.1.4

Will "special" match 1.1.1.3 or 1.1.1.4 in this example?
Will the wildcard match "special" to 1.1.1.3 before the "special" entry
matches?

Cheers,
Graham Weldon

Subject: Re: [Bind-dlz-testers] Wildcard Subdomain

Graham,

bind9-dlz+mysql-9.3.2+0.7.0 running on FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE.

Here is a part of my named.conf:
dlz "Mysql zone" {
   database "mysql
   {host=127.0.0.1 dbname=autovhost user=autovhost
pass=dvmrMJaKWzxZyKsx}
   {SELECT zone FROM dns_records WHERE zone = '%zone%'}
   {SELECT ttl, type, mx_priority, IF(type = 'TXT',
CONCAT('\"',data,'\"'), data) AS data
    FROM dns_records
    WHERE zone = '%zone%' AND host = '%record%' AND type <> 'SOA' AND
type <> 'NS'}
   {SELECT ttl, type, data, primary_ns, resp_contact, serial, refresh,
retry, expire, minimum
    FROM dns_records
    WHERE zone = '%zone%' AND (type = 'SOA' OR type='NS')}
   {SELECT ttl, type, host, mx_priority, IF(type = 'TXT',
CONCAT('\"',data,'\"'), data) AS data, resp_contact, serial, refresh,
retry, expire, minimum
    FROM dns_records
    WHERE zone = '%zone%' AND type <> 'SOA' AND type <> 'NS'}
   {SELECT zone FROM xfr where zone='%zone%' AND client = '%client%'}";
};

And here, SQL:

 SELECT *
FROM `dns_records`
WHERE `zone` LIKE CONVERT( _utf8 'mydomain.com'
USING latin1 )
COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci
LIMIT 0 , 30
