What are the pp packages?  I use the srpms from atkac and just rebuild them:

I thought those lines would show up as it's reading the named.conf,
but your paste seems to indicate otherwise.  Post your
/etc/named.conf.

And it's also tempting to assume that you are calling the named-sdb
binary and not a script named named_sdb like you pasted.  Is that
true?

We use 64 bit CentOS 5.2, so it should definitely work for you.
