I believe Scott, Todd and I have used the srpms from here with on rhel with success. http://people.redhat.com/atkac/bind/ Might want to start there. The latest isc bind sources failed to build for me on rhel due to rhel's libssl incompatibilities which I didn't feel like tracking down.
