I found the cause of the (well, a anyway) 100% CPU usage problem! The fix, lterally a one-liner, as well as some other minor changes, can be found in the brand-new Posadis 0.60.5 release. Quoting the announcement <http://www.posadis.org/news/posadis-0.60.5-announcement.php>, this release contains the following changes: *Quote:* Posadis 0.60.5 changes * Fixed bug in hashvector where looking up would be done case-sensitively (e.g. causing other case lookups for large zones to fail) * Fixed bug where setgid and setuid would not work both at the same time * Warn for lines with leading whitespace * Warn if no sockets to listen to * Fixed bug where cache items would not show up in zd_first->zd_last chain, thus not being cleaned up and potentially causing 100% CPU usage * Added support for initial cache files Poslib 1.0.5 changes * Master file reader now allows you to skip certain checks to make it more useful for initial cache files. * Also accept ".dns" extension for master files * Win32 poll implementation: if we're not waiting for sockets, do timeout rather than direct return. Mfedit 0.60.5 changes * Allow for editing of cache data files (i.e. don't require SOA records, and skip check for nonexistent domain names if this option is set) * Always show relative domain names in the "Domain name" field * Fixed bug where TXT records would be lost in absolute/relative conversion Downloads at the usual location <http://www.posadis.org/download.php> (when I finish uploading, anyway). I'd like to hear your experiences with this new release on the Discussion forum. Let's hope this solves some of the stability problems people were having with the Posadis cache.
