In the short term, SME could possibly contract support from Progeny.

There are many RH based distros that have this same problem.  Progeny 
may offer a better deal to mini-distros although there would probably be 
redistribution issues.  There are probably commercial users of SME dev 
that could donate toward this.  It might be worth discussing with Progeny.

In the long term, consider a move to Debian/*BSD/etc.
