Re: Etherboot 5.4.0: "Valid link not established"

I have poked around a bit, but I haven't yet found the problem.

*) I've tried to enable DEBUG, to see if anything stood out - Nothing.
In particular it seems happy about the bus mastering and latency set-up 
provided by BIOS.
*) I've also tried to force the bus-mastering code to execute, but still 
the same problem.
*) I've tried to read out the status register several times, with and 
without additional delays. The readout is 0x0000 every time.
*) I've also tried to reset the chip prior to the probing - No go...

As I wrote previously, I "solved" the problem by removing the check...
src/drivers/net/eepro100.c
Take out the if-statement with the "Valid link not established"

Should the check be removed alltogether, or is this something that is 
fixable? Perhaps we should have an extra target: "82559ER with 
misbehaving status register" ;-)
