Thanks for helping to isolate the problem. I will see what I can find
out tomorrow.

Unfortunately, it's a PCI-e chip (NetXtreme BCM5721) on the motherboard
of a Fujitsu-Siemens TX150 S3 server, not a separate card of more modest
cost. My guess is that any contact with Broadcom would result in a
suggestion that I contact Fujitsu-Siemens.
