Chainload Grub --> gPXE on a compact flash

Hello guys,

    I would highly appreciate some help from you in a problem that i have.

I am currently working with tulip code from gPXE, to make it run on my 
hw config.
(i have a diskless platform that boots from a compact flash and loads 
it's kernel via TFTP)
in which i encountered some difficulties due to the config values found 
in eth card eeprom => Tx Timeout error
But this is not the problem, i will figure it out eventually.

Obviously there is a lot of debugging to be able to do that and for each 
minor line of code i modify i have to
run in the lab, get the flash, back to the pc , rewrite the gpxe image , 
lab, reboot, back to the pc

=>
1. i wrote in the cflash mbr a stable version of grub i don't touch
2. i made 3 partitions on the compact flash.
       - first contains the menu.lst for the stable grub, some kernels 
to debug
       - second 'contains' (was setup'ed with) a grub version i 
currently debug and play
       - the third   ii dd'ed with a gpxe image (first a usb then a dsk) 
that i hope to be able to debug

=> the main, stable grub menu lst contains entries:
        -  towards local (flash) kernel (default)
        -  towards tftp  kernel 
        -  chainloads partition 2 grub
        -  chainloads partition 3 gpxe

=> if something goes wrong i just remotely reset (mechanical device 
connected to a lab pc)
      the default stable grub-kernel loads, and i just rewrite the 2nd 
partition grub stages i messed up previously

 PROBLEM: while the grub chainload works smoothly , the gpxe one seems 
'completely dead', not a single sign that it started
                    (not a single dbg message)  => it may be grub's 
fault or my fault because i did not setup the chainload correctly

Have some ideas?
