Good day lincoder,

In regards to your timeouts around the time of reaching the login screen
from a SAN-boot of CentOS:

Since you mentioned you have the computer attached to multiple networks,
are you quite certain that your routes are set correctly? Is it
possible that the NIC which connects your CentOS to the SAN is not being
used once routes are set up? Perhaps the OS is looking for the SAN
through a different interface, due to this other interface having, let's
say, the same subnet.
