AquaEthereal on a MAC OS X machine

Hi,

I have gone through all the steps to install the Xcode Tools, Fink,
Ethereal, and AquaEthereal.  I am trying to get it to kick it off, I
double-click on the executable, typed in multiple passwords, and none
of them work.  The password prompt comes up, I type in the password,
and then Ethereal closes.  Any hints on something I may have done
wrong ?
I am running OS X 10.4.6
