OK I started back from your patch and modified it (mainly little things
too keep the code familiar to myself :p , but also something to manage a
tricky special case in updateStatus). Commited.

Thanks for your work Craig. OK now I will make a panel for groupchats to
list people. As I'm not sure you're very interested by this feature, I
can't wait for you to do my job I guess :)
