I reported this same behavior a few days ago (for EB-WIN), for what it is 
worth. Sounds exactly the same except my contact was using AOL Instant 
Messaging (and I was using the AIM part of EB). The behavior did NOT go 
away, when I logged off, then logged on again, again for what it's worth.
