Latest subversion repository, should be in releases from alpha-5 onwards. 
Name's eb-cmd.

Examples:
eb-recv
(just dequeues any messages)

eb-send -g Buddies Myself "Hello, this is a test"
(sends the messages "Hello, this is a test" to the contact "Myself" in user 
"Buddies")

Miscellaneous other stuff is in eb-ctl. For example:
eb-ctl signon
(sign on all)

eb-ctl list
(list groups and contacts)

They all have --help options, so explore.

File transfer isn't in yet, so I can't do a command-line FT transfer.

Most definitely. The old tree had something like this with its UNIX-socket 
method (somewhat akin to Gaim's "remoting" features). However, like Gaim 
remoting, it requires a running, full-UI client to work. EB-lite, of course, 
doesn't suffer from that.

Right. This is a biggie, and a common request. Is there anyone out here who's 
willing to consider doing something about it? It'd be really really helpful!

Yuck yuck yuck! Yes, horrible protocol. Do you have a link to a reference? I 
might just try it sometime...

Yes, it is. We have a Jabber developer on board, but she's a little bogged 
down at the moment. These things will come...
However, unless I'm very much mistaken, Jabber is the only protocol supported 
by EB but not EB-lite. Of course, things like UNIX talk and other extras 
would be nice, and carry on suggesting them!
