Ok, some ideas/comments from me too... just brainstorming away

For GUI (just a list of things you might already have, but still might be
useful for the brainstorm):
* Skins
* Buddy-icons
* Emoticons
* Sound
* Free placement of contacts
* Some animation maybe
* Usage of fonts

Consider the following client/protocol too: Odigo (www.odigo.com)

When the whole things, gets to be a little more bigger than it now is, you
might also consider some tools to make configuration more easy. (It is not
very difficult now, but might be in the future, esp. if you are going to get
into the cron-job thing). Maybe you could make a webmin plugin
(www.webmin.com) for it.

Maybe someone could develop some kind of webbased GUI which connects to the
eb-lite "server". Consider ICQ's new developments in that direction:
doorbells, etc. they call it.

Maybe someone could also develop a gnome application kind of thing, which
could function like the pop-ups of MSN from the taskbar. I hate them, but
some people might like them ;)

Is it already possible to place the server on a different computer than the
GUI? Might be nice if that worked, havent tried it yet.

The core now shows that I have messages from MSN, but the GUI doesnt show it,
I think. Could you make something for that? Think that must be an easy one.

If I come up with more, I'll post it... for now this is it, I think
