Alpha-12 released

 All right, hello again, and welcome to yet another release. There's 
news from all quarters, so I'll try to summarise: 

* In the core, there have been some cleanups going on, notably of the 
MSN and Yahoo plugins, which now work much more nicely. We're still 
having a few problems with the AIM servers, but they no longer cause us 
to crash, which is nice. 

* We now have Jabber support, courtesy of Cory McWilliams. This is its 
first release, so please do take it for a spin and tell us what you 
think. Right now, the plugin doesn't support creating a new account, so 
you'll have to use a different Jabber client to set things up. Bear 
with us. 

* The text-mode interface, ebnc, has been moving forwards, with the 
addition of group chat capabilities 
Last but not least, in the gap since alpha-11, we have a new mobile 
phone interface . This isn't included in the tarball, but follow the

We're also getting kinda curious about how many people are using this 
thing, so you will also notice a dialog when you first log in, asking 
permission to tell us that you are doing so. Fear not, the only 
information recorded by this is the time, the version you've just 
installed, and the version you upgraded from. Nothing else.
