Ah, I knew I forgot something. I'd updated from CVS just moments before 
emailing (1:15pm PST 6/23).

Sorry, I wasn't familiar with the term yet and erroneously assumed it 
meant the same as coping. I meant creating a variant of an existing 
Style in the pref pane. It makes sense to me now.
