Buddy icons in buddy list

Hi,

AIM buddies who have a buddy icon defined show up in the buddy list 
with their buddy icon instead of the AIM service icon. While this is a 
nice feature and all I suppose, I don't want that behaviour. I don't 
care about buddy icons and I don't want them cluttering up my buddy 
list in tiny form.

Is there a hidden preference to turn it off? I can't find anything in 
the Preferences dialog.
