Encryption Plugin ?

Hello,

I have GAIM in my Solaris box, and I want to communicate securely with a 
friend on a Mac. I hear that Fire is based on GAIM (is that true?). If 
so, then I was hoping Fire would have a plugin compatible with GAIM's 
encryption plugin:

Is this possible?
