Speech in Fire in Tiger

All,

I just upgraded to Tiger.  I installed the newest version of Fire  
(Built Apr 29 2005 18:59:19 (1.5.2)) and it appears that my Speech  
options in Fire are no longer working for me.

If I go into the Sound/Speech preference in Fire and choose "Test" no  
voices play.  Is the Speech option working for other people in Tiger?
