For the heck of it, I just tried setting up Fire to be a Jabber
client to connect to the new Google Talk service.
http://talk.google.com/

I followed essentially the same instructions they provide for iChat,
which worked fine, but when I attempted to connect after setting up
the account in Fire, Fire unexpectedly quit.

Looks from the crash log as though it might be related to the SSL
attempt. Perhaps of interest is that their notes for setting up iChat
say that it will report that the username and password will be sent
non-securely, but that it isn't true.
