Fire 1.5.3's handling of incoming Google Talk attempts from new users
not on your buddy list is a little off. When someone new tried to ask
me to authorize her, I got an alert from Fire along the lines of
"[email protected] wants to subscribe you." (The phrase "subscribe you"
is definite.) I clicked whatever button made sense ("Allow,"
probably) and the alert went away, but the user didn't get anything
back, and I didn't get her in my buddy list.

I'd suggest a behaviour similar to Fire's handling of Yahoo!
authorize requests, where it asks if the user can add me, and gives
the options "Deny," "Allow," and "Allow and Add." This works very
well, and would seem to be the right mechanism in at least the Google
Talk implementation of Jabber.

I had to e-mail her (I recognized the gmail ID) to ask her to try
again after I disconnected Fire from GT and reopened iChat.
