report on fire+gmail: connect but no ability to see/recv/send

hi all,

sounds like there are some known issues with Talk.Google, but just thought i'd=20
add my current sit rep.

> In All Reports:
> What version of Fire are you running?
    Built Jul  6 2005 16:53:18 (1.5.3)
> What version of Mac OS X are you running?
    OSX 10.4.2
> What service(s) are you using?
    Talk.Google.com
> What is in Fire's Console (Window -> Console Window)? If nothing, then say=20
so.
    8/24/05 3:08:33 PM - Jabber - Connected
> What is in the System Console (if anything) that pertains to Fire=20
(/Applications/Utilities/Console.app)? If nothing, then say so.
    nothing

i've two boxes:

(1) Linux + Kopete
    account --> [email protected]
    online @ talk.google.com
(2) OSX + Fire
    account --> [email protected]
    online @ talk.google.com

  user1 can see/chat other gmail users online with other Linux/Windows gmail=20
clients.
  user1 cannot see user2 as online
  user2 can NOT see as online, or chat with, any other gmail clients

if switch to, say, AIM clients/accounts, all is OK ...
