Open fire, log into AIM only.  Look in Fire's console.  It should say 
something like "AIM - BOS IP:"  Tell me what it says there.

I assume that you are using port 80 because you can't connect to other 
ports.  I have an idea on what to do here.  I may have a test that you 
could run to see if that helps.  I don't have any issue connecting to 
arbitrary ports, so I can't easily debug this.
