I would have expected that Fire was displaying the local system time, rather than any information coming from the remote user or the server, so it should be a relatively simple programming task (says the non-programmer) to let the user specify a preferred format for the display of the timestamp that may optionally include the date. Ironically, I've just this week been discovering that iChat AV displays the time of incoming messages using a time that is clearly NOT the same time my computer's set to. I've been able to tell a friend "Your computer clock is five minutes slow," only to get an incredulous "How did you know?!" response. ========================================================================== Mark H.
