Connecting via TOC (more reliable, less features, if I'm recalling 
correctly) seems to let me connect, but shows most of my buddies 
greyed out. Of course, most of the useful features of Fire don't work 
with such a connection, so I have limited interest in using Fire that 
way. :-)

Connecting via Oscar sets most of my buddies to blocked.
