Adding an extra column to the Accounts window for status seems like a
possible way to do things, but I think we would need more than that to
really do it right... probably a way of getting a snapshot of the
current state across all accounts/services and saving that as a custom
"away item". Of course the next step beyond that would be to allow a
different profile and different away message on each service, but the
complexity of dealing with it may be too much.

We've had a lot of interface confusion over the three "modes" that the
current buddy list has (online/all/edit). For Fire 1.0, we did a lot of
work to consolidate this into a simple switch between showing online
buddies and all buddies. I believe that having the Accounts window as a
toggle in the same window would be problematic.

As to multiple accounts on the same service, we currently handle that
by just listing all of them in a flat list. I believe that is better
than having popup menus per service since it allows us to grow into
multiple simultaneous connections on the same service in the future.
