After 'ipsec setup start' I get ipsec_setup: test: ==: unknown operand ipsec_setup: FreeS/WAN IPsec 2.01 ... and then the prompt. But a 'ps lawxg|grep pluto' still shows nothing but the grep command and 'ipsec verify' also thinks that pluto is not running. When I issue ' ipsec setup start' again though, I get ipsec_setup: test: ==: unknown operand ipsec_setup: FreeS/WAN IPsec apparently already running, start aborted Around every two minutes I will also get a pop-up telling me that 'Network conflict detected. Two connections (USB, serial, wireless) are using the same network: "192.168.1.0/24"'. This occurs whether I have "started" ipsec just once or twice. Best Rolf
