Hi Everyone,
I am using RedHat 7.3 Linux.
As I wanted to fix the off-by-one (CAN-2003-0466) security vulnerability
in our wu-ftp
server, I downloaded the latest version of wu-ftpd from www.wu-ftpd.org
<http://www.wu-ftpd.org/> (2.6.2), applied
the realpath.patch given on the website and compiled and built it using
the
configure "-prefix=/usr/local/wuftpd-2.6.2"
make
make install
commands.
However, when I run the newly built version 2.6.2 (1), the "ls" command
does not work
at all, whether I login using a text based ftp client from a linux box
or using the Internet
Explorer web browser, I can not see the list of the files!
I rebuilt the server using the -enable-ls command for the ftp server to
use its own internal
"ls" command. This version lists the files but incorrectly!!!!! It
erroneously places size and
time info at the begging of the file name and therefore I can not access
the files using a Web
Browser such as Explorer, because the ftp server can not find any files
where the file names
are prepended by "size date" info!
Here is what I seen in the internet explorer when I log in to the ftp
server:
4096 Jan 10 23:02 wuftpd
4096 Jan 10 23:03 ser-documents
4096 Jan 10 23:04 other
instead of seeing:
wuftpd
ser-documents
other
therefore, I want to configure the wuftpd server to use the linux box's
"ls" command.
Can anyone please tell me how I can do that?!
