Here's a way to force LimeWire to find sources periodically :)

1 - Download MacroMagic or a similar program.
2 - Record a keyboard and mouse macro that does the following:

[Before starting, Maximise the LimeWire screen.]
[Before starting, Sort the "Status" column descending.]

a) Click the "Search" tab.
b) Click on any download
c) Press the 'up' arrow 10 times. (makes sure we start at the top of the list)
d) Click the "Find Sources" or "Resume" button
e) Click the first download again.
f) Press the Down arrow once
g) Click the "Find Sources" or "Resume" button again.
h) go back to e) and add one down arrow to f) for as many files as you want it to auto resume. 
i) schedule your macro using windows' task scheduler, or wincron.exe

Note: not actually tested! (Yet) It may also not achieve anything if you have a stack of queued downloads since they will be before the "Need more sources" ones. YMMV :)
