In fact, there IS validation of emails for list subscribers. But someone subscribed to the list, and then managed its own email address so that it redirects the emails it receives to another bogous random place (instead of unsubscribing the list), and this is done on its own email server, so theres nothing we can do to prevent such bad redirection, except forcing every subscriber to resubscribe by sending them individual messages and checking when these messages are bouncing. Anyway, I am not LimeWire, and I dont have the full list of subscribers, so I cant do that myself (and I have no legitimate right to send individual messages to every subscriber to the list, because this would be spam; only Limewire can do that, as part of the normal management of the list. Translators cannot do anything themselves, We know that each writer receives back a copy of his message through this bogous bounce coming from an unknown place. Note that this bouncing is asynchronous. Theres no way to know, from the list itself, that the email relayed by the list will bounce back directly to the writer (apparently it does not bounce to the list itself, so the list cannot detect this bounce; the remote server that performs such bounce is bogous (as it does not follow the widely accepted practice of NOT bouncing any message coming from a mailing list that is properly identified in its headers !) Yes I hate this irresponsible user that is so ignorant to redirect his message to a random address. _____ De : Yiftach Ringel [mailto:[email protected]] Envoyé : samedi 21 avril 2007 00:24 À : [email protected] Objet : Re: NDN: [trans] Hebrew translation The validation option sounds quite good to me.. Why aren't you doing it? Another option (not so good though) is just to open a new mailing list, so you can work with it... What the translators should do until the list is fixed? send it to you? _______________________________________________ translate mailing list [email protected] http://lists.limewire.org/mailman/listinfo/translate
