1. Thanks John. And that’s the spirit of free software. Collaboration shouldn’t care about who or what you are. It’s a social activity. And while I don’t contribute much outside of occasionally maintaining a small Gopher hole on SDF and browsing Floodgap, it’s still nostalgic for me.

2. Barana: He can say whatever he darn well pleases on his own servers. But subjugating an unwilling audience to “humor” like this after his previous thread is just tone deaf. A good comic knows how to read the room.

Also, freedom of speech isn’t without freedom of consequence, after all. This was his consequence. I was just providing an explanation why some people in some circles might be sensitive towards the topic. Heck, if I wanted to be truly mad about it, I would be mad at the male-oriented metadata in this “joke”. But, as I may be one of the few women here, it’s just a part of where I am.

3. Chris Brannon: Thanks. Yeah, I’ve been here awhile but don’t say much. And old protocols (and systems) have been a lifelong interest of mine. :) I don’t pay too much to Bitreich but he seems...a little different. But, it takes all kinds of people to make a community.
