Thanks for the quick and very helpful replies.
Here's what I've done:
I went to the grc site (which I used B4 when I was using Windows) and did a
full test. Everything appears to be "stealthed" except that my network
allows ICMP ECHO replies. I have already set GD under the "network" settings
to reject the ping protocol. I am wondering if the Lynksys Router
(192.168.1.1) is doing it's own reply? If not, why doesn't the GD setting
work? Perhaps I am setting the wrong thing?
Here is the grc statement:

I am trying to weigh the advantages of using a proxy to completely hide my
actual cable broadband connection. I've tried a couple of free proxies as a
test but they are very very slow. I have read about "spoofing" but I am not
sure how that works or how to do it, yet. More study needed I think.
