Now, when Your GD _rejects_ ShieldUp's attemps to ping your machine, ShieldUp's will be _informed_ the packet has been rejected. So, in the end, Your machine has signalled: "I am here". So why not just drop all "pings"? I have neither ticked nor crossed ping for my conf. and have encountered no problems at all...
