    If you have a firewall-router through which you connect via NAT, 
then ShieldsUp will scan the router instead of your computer. 
    If your router is responding to pings or has non-stealthed ports, 
you could try setting up a DMZ for your computer.  If you do this, then 
(hopefully) all of these signals will get routed to your computer.  
Assuming your computer is stealthed on all ports, etc. then you should 
finally pass ShieldsUp's tests.
    I don't know what will happen if your computer is off.  Your router 
might start replying again.
