Depends which beta. The latest betas carry their own SSL. While it
requires a little re-setting up, it works much faster and smoother
than the old stunnel add-on. 

The persistent directories bug was peculiar to one beta only, I
believe, and was taken care of a few versions ago.

There's a new beta out just yesterday, BTW.
